WIRED TO PROSPER(5) IN PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

As a matter of fact, what is pursuing you and what you pursue determines your destiny. We have seen what tend to pursue us. But what do you pursue? Follow me:

What you pursue
a. Your hopes. It drives you from the front, whilst fear drives you from the back. For example if you hope to buy a house or buy a car for your parents, you are bound to be driven by this hope. What we want to achieve tend to drive us.

b. Your happiness - Our peace and happiness tend to cause us to be driven.
Pursuit of happiness (every man is born to pursue happiness)
It's a strong drive. But it's not the same for all. When your heart is sinful, the things yo u pursue will be bad, same as when your heart is right, you will pursue good things. This is what the bible says about it:
“The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.”
Luke 11:34 KJV

What makes people happy is the condition of their hearts. The truth is the closer you are to God, the more the shift occurs, from world to spiritual happens.

c. Your heritage/legacy
How you want to be remembered can drive you.
No one wants to be forgotten when dead. So, we are driven to build, plant and establish legacies that can make people remember us.

In reality as Christians what should drive us should be what Paul pointed to in Phil 3:12
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

Lessons:

1. To know yourself as God knows you
How does God sees me. This is critical. No matter your wealth or your beauty, what is key is: How does He see me?

2. To be what God want you to be.
Everybody want you to become something, but you are not going to be prosperous until you are what God want you to be
The rich young ruler left miserably, because he couldn't be want Christ wanted him to be. Mark 10:21 The Jesus looking at him, loved him and said to him "One thing you lack, Go your way, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven, and come take up the cross and follow me" The guy could not imagine his life, if he had to sell all. He forgot that no one follows Christ and go broke, not in this world or in the one to come. Mark 10:29-31

3. To be more and more Christ like. He is our role model. Christ must be our standard. His holiness, submission, love, care, support. Friendship . Sacrifice love. To know him and the power of his resurrection. Phil 3:10

4. Press towards perfection in all that we do. Excellent in whatever we do. It's the nature of God. Be you perfect as He is perfect.
“Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
Matthew 5:48 NKJV
“But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
James 1:4 NKJV

Blessings.
