Overcoming life's problems-final part.

Overcoming Life’s Problems –Part 3 Solutions & Strategies of getting out of problems The strategies needed to help overcome such problems are: 1.  Recognise the problem .: It is key to make a list of all the problems and say to that list “you are my problems”. There are occasions when we think we know the problem when we do not.  A typical Christian has been taught to say that he or she does not have a problem, but is only facing challenges, and then goes and buries his head in the sand. That would not take away the problem. What Hezekiah did in Isaiah 36 v 13 & 22 was to list his problems and rent his garment. Many of us when we want to convey a big problem like a death to the spouse, we begin to confess what is not right or correct, or start by first saying the opposite of what has happened. That is not coming to reality with the problem. This is very common with Africans. The way to approach a problem is to break it, and not to rig marrow  Hezekiah’s official

This is the 50th prayer you should pray when you turn 50! 50. Alas...our prayers have not been answered!! Letter to my friend(A general lambaste)

Dear Friend A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine floated a poser on Facebook. He was canvassing for a State Police in Nigeria, just like in the USA. My take on his poser went beyond the idea, but the fact that Naija is a peculiar creation, where things that seem innocuous at conception becomes a behemoth in creation and administration! Why, I cannot fathom. I lay it bear in my thoughts, and I come to the conclusion that it is a leadership/followership problem that has become endemic within our psyche and it would take more than mere simplistic poser to cure. I have lived in the UK for going to 22yrs now and I have met all sort of people from all sort of nations ...our people(Nigerians-both leaders and followers(if there is any)either by some force of generational curse, extra-terrestial factors, self inflicted, wicked, selfish and corrupt leadership or for whatever reasons, have shown a surprise resistance to change. Its a case of 'wont change, cant change syndrome' I

Immigration just got TOUGHER

Family immigration changes announced The Government this week has announced changes to the Immigration Rules for non-European Economic Area (non-EEA) nationals applying to enter or remain in the UK on the family migration route. The new Immigration Rules will also unify consideration under the rules and Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, by defining the basis on which a person can enter or remain in the UK on the basis of their family or private life. Most of these changes will apply to new applicants from 9 July 2012. The changes include: ·         introducing a new minimum income threshold of £18,600 for sponsoring the settlement in the UK of a spouse or partner, fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner, of non-European Economic Area (EEA) nationality, with a higher threshold for any children also sponsored; £22,400 for one child and an additional £2,400 for each further child; ·         publishing, in casework guidance, a list of factors associated with genuine

His Mercy endures forever?..Letter to my friends

My season of His enduring mercy. July-August 2012 God has been good to us. His mercies endure forever. According to Plasm 136 we can see expressions of God's mercies in parts. 1. His creative powers...verses 4-9 2. His deliverance powers...verses 10-12 3. His victorious powers...verses 13-24 4. His miraculous powers....verse 13-16 5. His provision powers...verse 25 All the above has to do with Him only and with His mercies. Romans 9:16 says not of him who wills or of him who runs but of Him who shows mercy. There is no human effort that could match the above. If not for him, we would have been consumed.  The Bible says "I returned and saw under the sun that The race  is  not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11 NKJV)...The Creator is in control of time here and gives us chance, because he works all things for our good

7 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD INVEST IN PROPERTIES IN LAGOS. Letter to my friends(11)

Dear Friends I have a unique article today. Simple: I am inviting you to invest in properties in Lagos. It is not as impossible as you may think, and don't be dissuaded by 'negative news'. From my experience, rich people create a sense of 'impossiblities' and an ambiance of 'negativity' to create a dichotomy between them and perceived 'rivals'. You may wish to know that despite the economic downturns, there is a record increase of 'multi-millionaires in the world today more than ever! Here I list 7 reasons why I think the best time to move in to Lagos property investment is now. 1. In Lagos as in many other countries, properties value tend to appreciate faster than any other investment vehicles. The return on investment(roi) is fantastic. No wonder the prices of land are always rising. The demand for houses are always surpassing supply, and more people are property hunting either for building or for renting. 2. Someone said to me that la

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE....IT GOES BEYOND THE SURFACE

A friend of mine sent me a clip recently that I found really poignant. I reproduce it below: We had our first argument last night, and he said a lot of cruel things That really hurt me. I know he is sorry and didn't mean the things he said, Because he sent me flowers today. I got flowers today.. It wasn't our Anniversary or any other special day. Last night he threw me into a wall and started to choke me. It seemed like A nightmare, I couldn't believe it was real. I woke up this morning sore and Bruised all over. I know he must be sorry cause he sent me flowers today. I got flowers today, and it wasn't mother's day or any other special day. Last night, he beat me up again:]xx , it was much worse than all the other Times. If I leave him, what will I do? How will I take care of my kids? What About money? I'm afraid of him and scared to leave. But I know he must be sorry Because he sent me flowers today... I got flowers today. Today was a very special day. It was

FORGETTING IS KEY TO FORGIVENESS. Letter to my friends(Part 9)

I was just musing on forgiveness one day and I posted the phrase in the title of this page on Facebook. Not surprisingly, a couple of my friends commented, and albeit most reasonably, that one can forgive, but may not forget, because the scar and the hurt at times bring with it memories etc. My take is simple: Forgiveness is complete when you forget. What do I mean by forgetting? Let us take a dictionary meaning of 'forget' my dictionary defines it as ''to cease or fail to remember' or 'to fail to think of; take no note of... and how about 'forgive' my dictionary states: 'to cease to feel resentment against. or 'to give up all claim on account of...debt or obligation. If we take time to muse over the two definitions, we would see that they both carry a common denomination: to cease. To cease means, to stop doing something. It is my conclusion therefore that before we can fully say that we have forgiven we must be able to say that we have

IN CONVERSATION WITH BRO PAUL...Can we live together before marriage?Letter to my friends(8)

Dear Friend, Over the years I have had several conversations with my father in the Lord, always wanting a clarification of why he does some things in the ministry or an interpretation of a scripture or an explanation of a Christian doctrine. I have found such conversations immensely beneficial in my life and ministry. Recently, I asked him again to help shine light on a couple of ministry decisions that I wanted to take, and I was blown away with his usual candour. I asked him to allow me to publish some of our conversations and he agreed! Below is an excerpt of some of our 'tough talk'. Enjoy. On what is the position with long time relationship known as common law marriage(no marriage, but couples are living together as husband and wife, and they are expecting a child) Bro Paul: 1. It is not good for children to be born out of wedlock. 2. Since marriage is God's idea, it is an earthly union with a heavenly sanction. The law can grant license, parents can grant consent, but
