WIRED TO PROSPER(2)

UNDERSTANDING THE SEED. THE FIRST STEP TO PROSPERITY.
The bible teaches us that that the seed is a mighty instrument in our hand, but even more mightier when sown. John 12: 24 says Most assuredly I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone, if it dies, it produces much grain. This is a red letter sentence by Jesus. The grain remains the same as long as it is still in your hand, but when you let it loose, it performs wonders.

Furthermore, we note that at creation, in Gen 1:11, the bible records that God in creation says...Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth. It's therefore not rocket science to come to the conclusion that God brought forth the fruit, not the seed. He however, left the seed inside the fruit for further fruitfulness. The seed is important. We see this importance more in 2 Cor 9:10-
Now may he(God)who gives seed to the sower and bread for food multiply the seed you have sown. Some principles of truth out of this passage are:

A. God gives us seed to sow. Everybody will receive and has a seed to sow. Everyone has a seed to bring forth fruit. You can't grumble and claim to have been cheated. At the beginning of your life, God hid something inside you called seed. Hence, he made bold to ask you to Be fruitful. Gen 1:28. It would have been unfair to ask you to be fruitful without equipping you with that important seed.

B. Bread is for food.
Someone said, and I agree, the major difference between bread and seed is (seed is God given, bread is man-made) God gives you seed and you obtain your bread from someone somewhere. So, as a matter of cause, you must ensure that your seed is not eaten. Unfortunately, many people eat their seed daily, and therefore have no chance of sowing it. It is the bread that you must eat.
God does not multiply the bread. He multiplies the seed, but it's only when it is planted that it grows into a harvest of fruits. God does not increase you by how much you eat but by how much you sow

What is the seed?
1. The seed has been described as a Source -the beginning. Where you begin from. Everything on earth has a beginning. Trees have their beginning in a seed, animals, human beings etc all have their beginnings in a seed. Even, you as a human being, you started out as a cell(seed)

2. A potential-It is an undeveloped capacity . You are capable but not at the moment. It is what you will be which is not yet in existence. You are on way to becoming the greatest person on earth, a big CEO of a multinational company, but you are not there yet. The seed is the potential inside you that is growing. It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden, and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches. Luke 13:19
An acorn in my hand is an oak tree. When God gives you the seed he gives you the potential, not the product. Not the fruit but the seed. Don't despise it. Who you will become is a fruit but who you are is seed.

3. It's life giving. It's able to produce. Alive with capacity to give life. Seed looks dormant. But they are not dead. If you judge a seed by its appearance you are mistaken, and missing the point. A pregnant woman does not bring the baby immediately. It takes 9 months.

4. The seed is powerful. It survives all odd in the right environment . The power to remain alive. A fertilised seed inside a woman. Very fragile but it survives. When God gives you a seed it survives. It's planted in a hard ground but it generates something fruitful. When God says be fruitful, He is not going to give you something that can be crushed.

If you are aware of the above, shouldn't you therefore preserve, keep, and put to good use your seed? Your ideas, gifting, talents, product etc. Your seed includes millions of things that God has endowed you with, that seed in your hand is a Caterpillar waiting to become a butterfly, its a pound in your hand looking to be used for investment to make wealth. Think, be wise and fashion out your destiny.
