OCTOBER 10: SIGNIFICANCE IN NCC EDMONTON; SIGNIFICANT IN YOUR LIFE.
The Lord gave us the power to purchase our own worship centre with offices and good facilities. On the 6th of February 2009 we bought the building known as Charles Lamb Institute, 65 Church Street, Edmonton N9. The legal title passed on to us on this day after many years of its occupation for purposes other than for Christian worship, and 100 years of it’s built. A Grade 2 listed building with all its fancy, the original builders had envisioned such a day, and had stated that any religious organisation who buys the building must only use it for Christian religious doctrines/worship. To God be the glory, we in the New Covenant Church Edmonton, both old and new are blessed for this cutting edge achievement, for God has located us in the UK to be part of this ground breaking event. We took the building back for Jesus.
After a long tortuous planning process, and challenging times with the builders and the architects, I am pleased that today, the 10th of October 2009 building work formally finished and the keys to the entire building was handed over to us. Psalm 18:45-46. My heart bubbles with Joy, and praise unto the Lord. I got my confirmation again and again that Jesus is still on the throne. A manifestation that is renewed everytime I enter the building: I always feel some sense of joyful ambiance that instigate me to want to pray and sing. The building and its inner deco, even though not totally finished is marvellous and beautiful in our eyes. God has found us faithful in answering our prayers that the building be finished in record time, and by divine speed. We had set time for ourselves, moved out of our rented old building, and our first service had been in the car park of the site!!
I therefore want to use this medium to congratulate you for your contributions and support all these years, and whether you are still part of the NCC Edmonton family or not, God knows that your large or widow’s mite made this possible. I can only pray that God will prosper you, that you be in good health as your soul prospers. 3 John 1:2. There is no doubt that the building is already small for us, because even though the building could fit in 500 in one sitting, we realised to our joy last Sunday that we had difficulty in sitting all that attended the service. God showed that we have out grown the place even before dedicating it formally. Praise God.
This Sunday (tomorrow) will be the first service since we got the keys to all the parts of the building, when our children and young person’s can actually take their own classes for worship. It’s a unique Sunday, and I welcome you to celebrate with us, as we receive once again the blessing in the house.
Thank you as you come and I welcome you to Bethel delivering excellence. Proverbs 8:6
