TOOLS OF CONFESSION As we have tools for Adoration, we also have tools for confession. What are these tools: 1. An acceptance that we have sinned and a conviction that God has forgiven us. The obstacle to many people's breakthrough is not that they have not been forgiven by God, but that they cant believe that as bad as their sins are, God could forgive them. God is a merciful God. He says what he means and means what he says. Yes, those sins are bad, but for that reason he sent His only son, to die on the cross, so that we would not carry the burden of sin all over. Luke 11:4...forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Wonderful sentence and an important part of the Lord's prayer, and our own relationship with God. When we pray, as we take the next step after worship, there is an expectation that worship leads to the presence of God. In His presence there is fullness of joy and at his right hands pleasures for ever more. However, this is a sensitive stage in which there is an expectation that nothing stands between us and Him. It is an opportunity to clear all weight and burden of sin. It is the stage of confessing our sins and forgiving others. The Bible assures us that God is faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
